FIVE BODIES WASHED ASHORE

Brittany Coast Mystery

(Received February 7, 7.30 p.m.)

Paris, February 7.

Five dead men bound hand and foot, three of whom were gagged, were washed up on the coast of Brittany. They are believed to be victims of a clash on board one of the many Spanish ships which anchor in the estuary of the Loire.

A wallet found on one contained a Santander address. One victim was wearing sailor’s clothes.

'The French police trying to solve the riddle are keeping a close watch on the coast in the belief that more bodies may be washed up.
