WEEK-END GOLF

Events at Manor Park A tournament organised by R. Butters, Miramar, and B. Stratmore was held at the Manor Park golf links during the week-end. The resulte were as follows: — Best gross score over 36 holes (amateur) J. L. Black, 74-74-148. Among the professionals the _ best scores were returned by N. Fuller, 76-78-154, and R. C. Butters, 80-76-156. An 18-hole bogey resulted: D. Robertson (8). 1 up; Mrs. B. Power (13). all square; J. G. Hughes (14), all square. A 36-hole handicap stroke competition was won by Hughes, 85-90-175-18-139. The runner-up was Mrs. Power, 90-S7-17-143.

The 18-hole stableford bogey resulted: M. McKelvie, 26-12-38; L. Minifie, 32-5-

Competitions at Shandon The flag match played on (Tic Shandon Golf Club’s links on Saturday was won by H. Hansen, who planted the flag on the nineteenth green. The bogey match played yesterday morning was won by A. Edey (14), all square. He was closely followed by J. S. Hunter (5), 1 down. The stableford bogey played yesterday afternoon was won by D. M. Boyd (2), 36 points. R. Gt Flower (12) scored 35 points and W. R. Stuckey (4) and W. Ryan (9) each scored 32 points. Judgeford Club The first round of Mrs. Martin’s crystal bowl competition, played fey the Judgeford Ladies’ Golf Club on Sunday, resulted as follows: —Miss Pinner beat Mrs. Stevenson, 2 up; Miss Murphy beat Mrs. Algar, 2 and 1; Miss Nelson beat Miss Clarke, 4 and 3; Mrs. Campbell beat Miss Cain by default. In the second round Miss Pinner beat Miss Murphy, 2 and 1, and Mrs. Campbell beat Miss Nelson, 2 and 1. The final between Miss Pinner and Mrs. Campbell is to be played next Sunday. The first two rounds for the J. Wholey summer trophy (72 holes medal), played bv members of the Judgeford Country Golf Club on Sunday, resulted in the following net scores being returned :— W. Martin, 137; L. Cathro, 137; N. Whiteford, 138; B. Blake, 139: D. W. Barclay, 140; F. H. Busten, 141; M. R, Jacobson, 142; L. JPhilip, 143; J. Burt, 145; W. Burge, 145; E. Moriarty, 146; B. E. Ireland, 149; J. Campbell, 153; B, Burdett. 163. The Jacobson Summer Cup final replay between E. Moriarty and L. Philp finished all square.
