NAZI REGIME

Plotting by Army Generals Suspected (Received February 6, 1 a.m.) London, February 5. The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Herald” say Herr Hitler has ordered a close watch to be kept on the movements of the former Crown Prince owing, it is alleged, to secret activities, including numerous meetings of German army generals, some of whom are known to be lukewarm toward the Nazi regime. This is causing concern in Nazi circles, where it is recognised the Prussian aristocracy would look to the ex-Crown Prince first and foremost if signs developed that Herr Hitler’s grip on Germany was slipping. The ex-Crown Prince was allowed to return to Germany after three years’ exile on condition that he did not participate in domestic or foreign politics. He has never allied himself to the Nazis except for a brief appearance as a “motor Storm-trooper.”
