Price Movements At Yesterday’s Sales
For the first time this season export buyers operated at Addington and a keen sale for lambs and wether sheep resulted. There was also a keen demand for store sheep and an advance of 1/- a head was recorded. Fat cattle registered a slight recovery in values. Beef values again eased at Westfield, when there was yarded an over-supply of cows and heifers, some of which were of poor quality. Sheen values were somewhat firmer and the demand for lambs was keen. Prices generally were steady at Burnside, except in the case of pigs, which eased toward the close of the sale. The Stortford sale was characterised by a keen demand for store cattle at enhanced prices. All sections of stock, however, met a firm market.
