Reading i Received December 8. 8.10 p.m.) London, December 8. The House of Commons read a third time the Public Order Bill forbidding the wearing of political uniforms. The Government accepted amendments excluding from the operation of the Act. a stage or screen actor portraying a Communist or Fascist, limiting the period in which a procession may be banned in any area io three months and limiting restriction on flags and banners to those likely to lead to a breach of the peace. During the debate Mr. W. Gallacher (Communist) said that people had been inarching to Whitehall shouting “for the King,” but if they had been shouting for bread the police would have been there and smashed them to pieces.
