In the dining hall of the Cheshire Cheese Inn. in Fleet Street. London, recently, Lord Stanhope, First Commissioner of Works', inaugurated the 161st annual pudding season. As custom ordains, the huge pudding, weighing over 601 b., with “plover bird and tasty mushroom, ye steak, kidney and succulent, oyster.” was borne aloft by the Chief Custodian into the room and was received with musical honours.
