A RUGBY VETERAN

Late Mr. E. McCausland

A tribute to the memory of Mr. E. McCausland, a member of the New Zealand Native Rugby football team which toured Great Britain in 1889, and who died in Australia recently, was paid by the chairman of the management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union. Mr. J. Prendeville, at a meeting of the committee last night.

Mr. Prendeville said that the late Mr. McCausland had at one time been a member of the Athletic club, and had represented Wellington in 1885 and ISBG. He had been a valuable member of the Native team on the tour of Great Britain in 18S9, having played in 50 out of the 74 games played on the tour.

A motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed.
