Expressions of Sympathy SATISFACTORY PROGRESS Sympathy -with Lady Galway in her accident as a result of being thrown from a horse was expressed by several speakers at the opening yesterday of a new wing of the Salvation Army’s maternity hospital in Kensington Street. Hopes were expressed that she would have a speedy recovery. Lieut.-Commissioner F. H. Adams, the leader of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, who presided, said that all prayed that her Excellency might soon be restored to health.
The mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, expressed sympathy on behalf of the citizens of Wellington. He hoped Lady Galway would soon be restored to her usual vitality and once again be at his Excellency’s side to lend the charm of her presence to the gatherings she attended.
Commissioner G. Langdon, of London, made special reference to her Excellency’s health in his prayer of dedication.
Appreciation, of the kind references to his wife was expressed by the Gov-ernor-General, Viscount Galway. He said that Lgtly Galway had had a heavy fall. She had fallen on her head and suffered concussion. He was pleased to sayi that she had had a good night and that the doctors were satisfied witjb the progress that §he had made.
Reports from the Bowen Street Hospital last night indicated that Lady Galway had spent a comfortable day. Her doctors stated that they were pleased with her condition.
