GRANTS FOR SCHOOL

Wellington Board’s Area Notification that grants had been approved for the following schools was received by the Wellington Education Board from the Government at its meeting yesterday:— Dillons Point, to cover the cost of materials required for the construction of bicycle stalls. Brooklyn, toward the cost of remodelling the original wooden building and briek building to improve the lighting and ventilation of classrooms. Levin District High School, for purchase of arts and crafts materials and equipment for the secondary department. Muritai, to cover the cost of remodelling the residence on the additional site purchased recently in order that the building may be converted into a class room and dental clinic. Pahiatua District High School, to cover the cost of providing shelter aceom , modation for additional bicycles. Cabinet also has approved grants for additional accommodation at Otaki, for the remodelling of and additions to the Island Bay School, and for additional accommodation at, Epuni.
