WRESTLING MANAGER CHARGED

Alleged Reckless Driving

Walter Edward Miller, wrestling manager, aged 50, was charged in the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, yesterday with recklessly driving a motorcar, at Porirua, on November 6, and thereby causing bodily injury to James Leacock. On the application of Detec-tive-Sergeant L. B. Revell, he was remanded until November 25 by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M. Detective-Sergeant Revell explained that Leacock was still an inmate of the hospital. Mr. J. D. Willis asked for a renewal of bail, and also made application for reduction from the sums of £2OO and a surety of £2OO.

In reply to the magistrate, DetectiveSergeant Revell said the doctors were rather concerned about an injury to Leacock's back, but he was in no danger.

The magistrate fixed the bail at £lOO and a surety of £lOO.
