DIFFICULT PROBLEM

Co-ordinating Australian Exports CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY (Received November 17, 12.30 a.m.) Sydney, November .16. Representatives of all major exporting organisations in the Commonwealth held'a conference in Sydney to-day on the subject of the rationalisation of the export of Australian primary produce. The assistant Minister of Commerce, Mr. Thorby, who presided, expressed the hope on behalf of the Government that a serious attempt would be made to grapple with the broad principle of co-ordination, as the most difficult problem facing Australian producers was to get their products on to the United Kingdom market regularly, in good condition, and in a sufficient quantity for their requirements. Organisation, he said, could accomplish what individuals could never hope to achieve. The discussions continued in committee, and it was decided that a further conference should be held \in January.
