Building permits to the total value of £5815 were issued b.v the Petone Borough Council during October, stated the borough engineer, Mr. C. L. Jackson, in his report to the council last night, r ees paid amounted to £lB/10/-.
‘‘The increasing of the speed limit to 30 m.p.li. appears to have had the effect of a reneral steadying-up of the speed of car.” passing through the borough, said the Petone borough inspector, Mr. G. Booth, in his report to the council last night. “On the recent race day fewer cases of exceeding the speed inn t were noted than on any previous race day.”
