ENGLISH CRICKETERS
Welcome on Arrival at Sydney BETTER FORM HOPED FOR (Received November 12, 8.25 p.m.) Sydney, November 12. The English cricketers arrived at Sydney in bright sunshine, and shed their overcoats. All members of the team are glad they have left the bad weather behind. The captain, G. O. Allen, said: “I realise that we have not made a good start, nevertheless we wi 11 try from now onward to give you the type of cricket you want. I expect ail our injured players w;ll be fit in a week or two.” The team was cordially welcomed by the Premier, Mr. Stevens. Officials of the Board of Control and the New South Wales Cricket Association attended a civic reception. Allen announced that he has appointed Robins, Wyatt, Hammond and Leyland as an advisory committee to assist him to select the Test teams. TEAM TO PLAY N.S.W. (Received November 12, 10.35 p.m.) Sydney, November 12. The English team for the match against New South Wales, which begins to-morrow, is as follows: Allen, Hammond, Worthington, Sims, Hardstaff, Ames, Barnett, Fagg, Fishlock, Copson and Leyland.
