Much Benefited by Rest RESUMING TOUR IN FEW DAYS By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, November 12. Looking remarkably fit. and well. Miss Jean Batten arrived at Greymouth this afternoon. An engagement at Wellington on November 27 necessitated her departure from Waiho unexpectedly. She left by rail-car for Christchurch this evening, and is going by car to Ashburton to-night and Queenstown to-morrow for two days before resuming her official tour. She left Waiho by car, at 9.30 a.m. and stopped to inspect the Rlmu dredge and the Hokitika aerodrome. A civic reception was accorded her from the Greymouth Hotel balcony, nearly 2000 being present. The mayor, Mr. Meldrum, welcomed Miss Batten, who returned thanks for her warm welcome on her first visit to the Coast

Interviewed later,-she said she had benefited greatly by her rest at the glaciers, where she had qualified for an “A” licence in horse riding. She promised to return in January or February by plane to visit the West Coast. She said the Hokitika aerodrome was better than many she saw on her trip from England to Australia. At the railway station she received a hearty send-off, the platform being crowded.
