OVERSEAS LEAGUE

Sir Michael and Lady Myers Welcomed

Members of the executive and the social committee of the Wellington branch of the Overseas league gave a cocktail party in the palm lounge of the hotel St. George last evening to welcome back the president, Sir Michael Myers, and Lady Myers, who recently returned from a trip to England. Lady Myers was wearing a biack frock and coat of cocoa-dyed ermine and a smart black hat. Captain Hartman welcomed the guests of honour, after which Sir Michael replied and also gave a description of the delightful clubrooms in London, the organisation’s headquarters, and in Edinburgh. While cocktails and their accompanying savouries were being handed around, all present had an opportunity of conversing with Sir Michael Myers and Lady Myers and hearing more about their trip overseas. Those present were Captain and Mrs. Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Boyle, Mrs. A. L. Daillie, Mrs. W. Pearce, Mrs. Charles Nicholls, Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Mrs. Martin Elgar, Mrs. H. Kirkcaldie, Miss Mary Butler, Miss AnnKane, Miss Mona Brien. Miss Helen Thomson, Mr. A. Sutherland.
