KING AS DANCER

TT is true that King Edward is a "*■ good dancer, but compared with his brother, the Duke of Kent, he is practically a novice. Take it from Madeleine Carroll, who has danced with both.

Presented at Buckingham Palace when King George was on the Throne, Madeleine Carroll frequently attended dances at which Royalty was present. “King Edward,” she said, “is really a fine dancer—particularly in the Viennese waltz and the tango. But the Duke of Kent! Why, he’s brilliant.”

A member of the “Prince’s Set,” which made her the envy of women in England—let alone the rest of the world —the actress gave up a Mayfair career for the films, and declares that she is glad she had the chance of doing it. “I want a film career, not the life of a Mayfair belle,” she says. “And the best chance off realising my ambition seems to be in Hollywood.” Madeleine Carroll recently completed “The Case Against Mrs. Ames,” and is now at work on “The General Died at Dawn.”

A NN DVORAK, having finished work in “We Who Are About to Die,” is off to New York to join her husband, Leslie Fenton, who is going into a new Broadway drama.
