CROQUET TOURNEY

Wairarapa Results Dominion Special Service. Featherston, November 11. The annual Wairarapa croquet tourney, in which players from as far away as Auckland are competing, was commenced at Featherston this morning. The green was in excellent order and weather conditions were perfect. Results of the day’s play are as follows: — Handicap singles: Mrs. Anstis (Manawatu) beat Mrs. Barry (Haunui), 26-9; Mrs. Jeffreys (Martin borough) beat Mrs. W. Card (Haunui), 26-15; Mrs. Colquhoun (Palmerston North) beat Mrs. Vincent (Carterton), 26-15; Mrs. Evans beat Mrs. Fowler, 26-13; Mrs. McAlpine beat Mrs. McDonald, 26-23.

Handicap doubles: Mesdames Boyd and Evans (Martinborough) beat Mesdames Petrie and Nix. 26-21: Mrs. Donald and Mis« McKenzie beat Mrs. Caldow and Miss Lyford. Level singles: Mrs. Jeffreys beat Miss Lyford, 26-23.
