WAIRARAPA AERO CLUB

Dominion Special Service. Masterton. 'November 11. To date this month only twelve hours’ flying has been logged by the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club’s machines, adverse weather having considerably hampered activities. The club’s financial year ended on September 30 last, and at that date the club’s machines had floivn a total of 4200 hours, which is the equivalent of 350,000 miles, without any serious accident or injury to the occupants. The number of pilots trained by the club for “A” licences is 70. Eight pupils who trained with the club have since qualified for “B” licences; two have gained their wireless operators’ tickets; five are licensed ground engineers; four are members of the N.Z.A.F.; three are members of the Royal Air Force; one is in the Air Force in China; another is instructing in South Africa; and three are employees of various commercial companies in New Zealand. During the last financial year nine pupils gained their “A" licences, four were granted their endorsed “A” licences and one passed his “B” licence examination.

The third and final rounds of the competitions for the Sir William Hunt Cup and the McDonald Rose Bowl, will take place on Sunday, November 15.
