French Maniac Youth

Paris, October 21.

Seven people have been killed by a maniac youth who. armed with two rifles, is roaming the forests in the region of Basses-Alpes.

A woodcutter states that while he and a companion .were working they heard a shot and found that the youth had crept up and shot a child playing outside a cabin. The woodcutters ran toward the murderer, but one of them was killed. His wife and two children ran out from the cabin, and all were shot. The madman then fled, killing a shepherd in his flight.

Another body was also found in the forest later.
