Wellington Markets Firm
ACTIVE TRADING YESTERDAY
No very marked changes took place yesterday in the Wellington stock and ehare markets, which were active and firm. There was again a substantial volume of trading, sales being recorded as follows: —
There was a slightly better inquiry for bank shares, New Zealantls selling to 42/3 and National of New Zealand to 60/3. Carlton Breweries were very firm, buyers advancing to 69/- and sellers asking 2/- higher. Miscellaneous industrial and trading issues were quieter, but Australians were fully firm. British Tobaccos had dealings at 47/6 and Dunlop-Perdriaus were stronger.
