Manawatu Club Palmerston North, September 20. » Fourteen members of the Manawatu Amateur Hoad Cycling Club participated in a race .of tjome 20 miles over a threecircuit course round Gillespies Block in fine weather yesterday afternoon. From the five-minute mark H. Essex rode well to finish first ahead of C. Hayes (7min.) and P. Hulbert (Omiu.) third. Fastest time was returned by U. Hawkins (New Plymouth), scratch, who covered the distance in 55miu. He was closely followed by E. Lawrence, also off scratch, who was under half a minute behind Hawkins. MASTERTON CLUB i Masterton, September 20. The Masterton Road Cycling Club held a 25-mile event on Saturday,’ the winner being P. Condon (2min.), with M. Dooling (2Jmin.) second and C. Osborne (scr.) third. Fastest times were returned by P. Condon, 03.3 1; C. Osborne, 63.33, 2; L. Clark, 63.33 1-5, 3. Condon, a first-year rider, rode a fine race and won by a wide margin.
