PALACE, PETONE

Philo Vance, with his nuave polish masking that coldly analytical brain, will be seen in 8. S. Van Dine’s newest mystery, “The Garden Murder Case,” which commences this afternoon at the Palace Theatre, Petone. Edmund Lowe is the famous Philo Vance, and his nonchalance as he movew through a series of perilous situations is at once thrilling and humorous, and his masterly handling of those he suspects of crime is supreme entertainment. The supporting feature is ‘‘The Farmer in the Dell," starring Fred Stone and Jean Parker. The story concerns a farmer who through strange circumstances finds himself in the movies.
