The Bijou Theatre (From “The Dominion,’’ Sept. 81, 1911.) Wellington is to be liberally supplied with picture theatres. There are now four permanent picture houses in Wellington. four more will be in existence in six months, and there is talk of still another proposed to be erected in the Thorndon district. The latest to be announced is the Bijou Picture 'Theatre, which is being evolved out of the Kops’ Ale Brewery building—a substantial brick structure in Ingestre Street, near Veitch and Allen’s corner, and within fifty yards of a busy tramway section terminus. The new theatre will seat between 40!) and 5(10 people. [The Bijou Theatre building has long since been converted to warehouse purposes. It stands on the corner of a lane on the southern side of Vivian Street, as Ingestre Street is now called, between Willis Street and Cuba Stree*. a few yards from the latter.]
Mr. H. N. Holmes, secretary of the Y.M.C.A., who is shortly to leave -Wellington for Adelaide, was farewelled last night by the Methodists of Wellington.
