Hutt Valley Champions

“Our first annual tournament has been a very great success,” said Mr A. Marshall, president of the Hutt Valley Table Tennis Sub-Association, at the conclusion of the championships last night. During the tournament it had been evident that the standard of play in the Hutt Valley had improved considerably. Mr. A. Scholefield, Mayor of Petone, then presented the prizes to the successful competitors as follows: — Men’s open singles: G. Bell (Onslow). Women’s open singles: Miss K. Tustin (Taita). Men’s open doubles: Bell and Pyle (Onslow). Women’s open doubles: Miss Tustin (Taita) and Miss Walsh (Railways). Mixed open doubles: Miss Tustin (Taita) and E. Hughes (St. Ronan’s). Second grade singles: R. Wright (Forester’s). Second grade doubles: J. Croudis and J. King (Railways).
