Wellington City Council Decisions HILL STREET PARKING New traffic regulations were adopted last night by the Wellington City Council. In future parking will be prohibited at the following places:— Courtenay Place: Both sides of Courtenay Place in that portion lying between Cambridge Terrace and the western side of Blair Street.

The by-law fixing a building line on the south side of Hunter Street between Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay to provide for the street to be widened to 06ft. was considered at, length, it being suggested by the works committee that if parking were prohibited there would be no need to widen the street and the by-law could be repealed. The question of repealing the by-law was deferred. v The one-way traffic rule was adopted for Sydney Street West, near the Public Cemetery, west-bound traffic to use the high-level road and east-bound traffic the low-level road. Hill Street Control. On the recommendation of the bylaws committee it was decided that the previous resolution prohibiting parking at Hill Street after 10 p.m. be amended to provide for parking to be prohibited after 10 p.m. in the portion of Hill Street between Guildford Terrace and Tinakori Road only in the meantime. The whole ,question of parking outside all dance halls would be reconsidered in view of the representations made to the council, the committee reported. The city engineer was authorised to continue the work of taking a tally of the traffic from time to time, and the preparation of graphs and diagrams. It was also derided that applications be called from employees engaged in the non-trading departments of the council for six temporary traffic inspectors for duty from October 1 to March 31.
