Hon. W. Nash, In the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Burnett asked for' iiiforinatioii regarding tlie existing system of checking taxation payments in regard to the issue of steamer tickets and passports and also inquired whether the passport itself contained any provision that the person applying for it must have complied with taxation laws, particularly those in regard to employment taxation. Mr. Burnett requested that the Minister should make provision tliat before a passport or steamer ticket was issued the applicant should produce the necessary certificate from the Taxation Department showing that all taxation obligations bad been discharged.
