The adaption of the 40-hour week by the Auckland Transport Board had meant the engagement of 143 additional men, making a total of 1252 men regularly employed in the service, according to a report by the manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, at a meeting of the board Mr. Ford added that the changeover from 48 hours a week had been made ou Sunday, September 6, since when there had not been a single com-, plaint or interruption of the service.
