Interviewed concerning the report that he may be appointed to a post In connection with the Government’s scheme of commercial radio, the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour said it was no secret that he was definitely interested in the introduction of commercial radio, and had had many conferences with the Prime Minister on the subject He had advocated the policy as the only satisfactory means of providing without cost to the listener a service worthy of comparison with other countries. “Regarding the control of this service," said Mr. Scrimgeour, “I expect that the Prime Minister will make the announcements when he is ready, and in the meantime it is not my place to make further comment.”
