Mr. John Cobb, the famous London racing motorist, established eight world motor-car records to-day on completion of a 24-hour run over the Serset speedway here. ' He averaged 150.1629 miles ah hour. Seven other records were set during the run. Near the end Mr. Cobb almost met disaster. His heavy Napier Railton skidded on two wheels, and for, a second a crash appeared inevitable, but he managed to right the machine and .continue.
