THE CITY MISSION
There were general expressions of regret that the Rev. T. Fielden Taylor was prevented by illness from attending the opening of the Church of England City Mission’s Dutch fair at the Town Hall on Saturday. TJie work of mercy that ’has been carried on by the city missioner with admirable tenacity of purpose and remarkable success in spite of many handicaps, not the least of which has been the frailty of his physique, has gained for him the esteem and affection of the public as a whole. In the cause of charity he has been "a Prince of Beggars,” and such has been his sincerity of purpose that few can have ignored his frequent appeals for assistance in carrying on the work of his mission. He should be greatly cheered by the successful opening of the fair, and all will hope that he may be speedily restored to health and to the joy of devoting a handsome return from that enterprise to the furtherance of his plans for helping the lame dogs among us over their troubles.
