Gisborne Sale Dominion Special Service. Gisborne, September 12. At the Gisborne sale the fat sheep were a good quality entry, recent high rates being maintained. Only ewe's were offering, values being 24/9 to 29/-; second grade, 19/- to 22/-. Stores: A moderate size entry with all values firm, be'st hoggets being slightly advanced. Ewes, running lambs, one counted, 24/6 to 33/9; dry ewes, with condition and mouths, 23/3; fat and forward, 20/-; medium condition 15/6 to 17/-; hoggets, top grade "woolly wethers, 24/-; ewes, 28/-. .Beef: Mostly ordinary Jersey cows, with the market very brisk and everything in demand at higher rates. Jersey cows made 105/- to 115/-; medium, to 80/-; station bullocks, 9gns; Jersey heifers, to 106/-.
Following the ordinary sale was the annual sale on account of Hutchinson Bros.’ registered purebred Hereford bulls from Waihuka station, Waikohu, Poverty Bay. . The entry numbered 28, values ranging from 46 to 140gns., and averaging 70.
