Long Service Recognised 1 . ■ ■■ 3 .By Telegraph- Press Aiwwiation Hokitika, September 3. A public gathering of citizens in tile Town Hall last evening, at which the Deputy-Mayor. Mr. Leslie Michel, presided, presented the Mayor of Hokitika, Mr. George Albert Perry. 0.8. E.. with a handsome Illuminated addrese and a substantial piece of silver plate tn recognition of his twenty-five years’ continuous service as mayor of the town. Complimentary references were made to his valued services to the town and district over a period of years.
Mr. Perry is the first Hokitika-born mayor of the town.
