Vice-Reg At. Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Galway will return to Wellington today from the south. Sir George Elliot left Wellington last night on his return to Auckland. Sir Alexander Roberts returned to Wellington from the south yesterday morning. Major-General Sir William SinclairBurgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, returned to Wellington yesterday morning from Christchurch. Mr. H. H. Green has returned to Wellington from Christchurch. Mr. P. J. Nathan has returned to Wellington from the South Island. The Rev. H. E. K. Fry left Wellington for the South Island last night. Mr. S. Cory-Wright has returned to Wellington from the South Island. Mr. C. M. Bothamley, Clerk of Parliaments, returned to Wellington yesterday morning from the south.

Mr. W. G. Riddell, who has been visiting Christchurch, has returned to Wellington.

Dr. Russell Wells, Ashburton, left Wellington on his return to the south last night. Mr. and Mrs. Sevlcke-Jones, Christchurch, left Wellington last night on their return to the south. Mr. H. J. Kelliher, accompanied by Mrs. Kelliher, left Wellington last night on his return to Auckland. Mr. W. Gray Young, accompanied by Mrs. Gray Young, lefts Wellington last night for the north. Mr. Arthur Fairbairn, of Auckland, will arrive by the express from the north this morning. The Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., accompanied by Mrs. Perry, returned to Wellington from Christchurch yesterday morning.

Major Arthur Purvis, accompanied by Mrs. Purvis, returned t'o Wellington yesterday morning from Christchurch.

Mr. R. H. Nesbitt, Australian Trade Commissioner, will return to Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. Russell Grace, Wanganui, accompanied by Mrs. Grace, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Christchurch.

Mr. H. M. Piper, new business supervisor for New Zealand for the A.M.P. Society, has returned to Wellington from Auckland. . Mr. C. M. Turrell, general managei of the New Zealand Shipping Company, has returned to Wellington from the south.

Mr. H. B. Burnett has been appointed moderator of the Auckland Presbytery for six months in succession to the Rev. W. Bower Black. Dr. Malcolm Sargent, the English musician at present in Wellington, intends to spend a few days’ holiday in New Zealand after his strenuous work of the last ten days, and will not leave for Sydney until the end of the month. Mr. J. E. Dunne, of the Gisborne staff of the Union Bank of Australia, has been advised of his transfer to the Wairoa branch, and will leave on August 19 to take up his new post. The vacancy in the Gisborne staff will be filled by Mr. W. M. Mclnnes, who is being transferred from the Wairoa branch. Mr. and Mrs. John Smythe, of Hataitai, were passengers by the Rangatira on Wednesday evening, en route to Timaru. Mr. Smythe, who has held a position in the head office of J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation Limited, has been transferred to Timaru, where he will look after his company’s interests, Flight-Lieutenant A. de T. Nevili, New Zealand liaison officer in London, expects to leave for New Zealand in about two mouths. He went to England in 1934, and has been stationed at the Royal Air Force staff college, Andover, the seaplane base at Calshot, and the Gosport Royal Air Force base. When he returns to Wellington he will take over the position of staff officer to the Director of Air Services.
