ITALIAN CLUB MEETING

The fortnightly meeting of the Italian Club was held last Thursday in the Pioneer Club room, Dr. A. D. Carbery presiding. Signor O. Carraro presented the one-act drama, “Il Segreto,” by Sabatino Lopez, which was fluently read by Signora Rosalia Barsi, Signorina Gina Panozzo, Signor O. Carraro and Signor G. Barnao. The play was introduced by a summary in Italian of the life and works of the author. A series of humorous anecdotes, read by Signor Carraro, was a diverting item. Mrs. Hector Gunn played Rhapsody in G Minor (Brahms) and Fantaisie Impromptu (Chopin). The programme closed with “Giovinezza” and “God Save the King,” after which supper was served. From 7.30 to 8.30 classes were conducted by Signor O. Carraro and Signor V. A. Truda.
