The Union Company’s R.M.S. Maunganul arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Sydney and berthed at No. 1 south Queen’s Wharf. TAIPING AT SYDNEY. Johnston and Co., Ltd., local agents for the A. & O. Liue, have received advice that the Taiping reached Sydney on Sunday from Hong-Kong and Manila. Her YVellington cargo will be transhipped to the Marama, leaving Sydney uu August 14 for YY’ellington. TUSCAN STAR’S PASSENGERS. The Blue Star Line motor-ship Tuscan Star, which is to leave Auckland to-day for London, via Cape Horn, will take the following passengers :—Jlrs. L. Boddam, Mis? U. Fitzhardlnge, Jlr. and Mrs. T. Brebner, Dr. YVaddell is actiug as ship's surgeon. MATAKANA TO COMPLETE. The Shaw. Savill steamer Matakana is now to leave YVellington at 7 a.m. to-day for Gisborne and Auckland to complete her Homeward loading. She is to clear Auckland finally on August 10 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. PORT HUON AT LONDON. Cabled advice has been received that the Port Line motor-ship Port Huon reached London on Sunday. She left YVellingtou on June 26 for London, via Cape Horn, Montevideo and Teneriffe. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain A. F. Inman has returned from, holiday leave and lias taken command of the Kartigi, relieving Captain C. C. YVaters for holidays Captain A, JI. Lucas, of the Kowhal, has transferred to the Ngatoro, relieving Captain YV. YV. Fish, who is now :u command of the Koranui, vice Captain D. JI. Keith, who lias taken command of the Kini. relieving Captain A. T. Adam for holidays. Cartain F. J. Ogilvie is in command of file Shaw, Savill steamer Raranga. MAUNGANUI’S TRANSHIPMENTS. The Maunganui, which arrived at YYelliugton yesterday morning from Sydney, had transhipments ex Calcutta Maru, Merkur, Kauimbla. Talune, Goulburn, Carthage, and Manunda. PORT HUNTER ARRIVES. From London via the Panama Canal, the Port lane .steamer Port Hunter was due in the stream at YY’elllngton at 2 a.m. to-day. Sh» will berth about 8 a.m. at the Pipitea YVliarf to commence discharge of her London cargo and is to leave here again next Friday for Lyttelton. Timaru and New Plymouth to complete.
