AUGUST HOLIDAY
Long-standing Nelson Custom By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, August 3. In beautiful sunshine, which has been the case almost without excep tion during the winter months of this year. Nelson to-day is observing the first Monday in August as a holiday, as instituted by the early settlers fol lowing the English Bank Holiday Curiously enough, the banks are practically the only local institutions not observing the holiday.
