Australia SHARE OF GATES £19,351 By Telegraph —Press Association. New Plymouth, August 3. Appreciation of the high standard of play and conduct off: the field of the English Rugby League team during its Australian tour was contained in a letter from the Australian Board of Control, received by the manager. Mr. R. Anderton, on the team’s arrival at New Plymouth to-night. Th© letter was read by Mr. Anderton at a civic reception tendered the team. “I have been instructed to tender you the congratulations of the board on the financial and playing record of your team in Australia,” stated the secretary of the board. “Your share of the gate receipts has amounted to £19,351/12/-, against £16,087/6/3 on the previous tour, an increase of £3264/5/9.”
