WEDDING

Elworthy—Hutchinson A wedding of considerable interest throughout New Zealand took place at St. Saviour’s Church, Walton Street, London, on June 5, when Audrey? only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hutchinson, Remuera, Auckland, was married to Samuel C. Elworthy, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Elworthy, Gordons Valley, Timaru. The ceremony, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. R. (Dick) Sheppard, well known to many of the New Zealand soldiers during the war, who was assisted by the Rev. Mr. Qsborne and the Rev. Mr Burdlkin. The church had been beautifully decorated with hydrangeas in varying shades. The bride wore a frock of ivory satin cut on greclan lines and carried a sheaf of madonna lilies. She was given away by Dr. H. W. Wilson, Auckland, and was attended by Miss Elizabeth Elworthy, wearing a pale blue organza frock threaded with silver. Mary Elizabeth Watters, in a white organza frock with blue sash, was train-bearer and Mr. Pat Beasley was best man. After the marriage service a reception was held at the Basil Street Hotel, where about 150 guests were received by Mrs. H. W. Wilson, cousin of the bride, and Mts. P. A. Elworthy, The toasts were proposed by Major Hudson and Sir James Parr. After the reception rhe bride, dressed in a navy and white printed crepe de chine frock and short navy blue coat, left by private aeroplane for Paris.
