Private Advices.

The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week : The market for wethers is quiet and unchanged. Smaller supplies of ewes have caused prices to harden. There is a moderate demand for lambs. There is a good demand for beef. Compared with last week’s quotations crossbred lamb, 281 b. to 361 b„ and second quality lamb, l-Sd. per lb. lower. XV ethers under 481 b„ 1-8(1. per lb. higher. Ewes, 4Slb. to 721 b., l-Sd. per lb. higher. Beef, l-Sd. per lb. lower. The lamb market on the spot is weaker, particularly light weights. Mutton market steady. The above cabled advice was received on Saturday by Levin and Co., Ltd., from their London agents.
