Journalist Sentenced In Germany

Berlin, July 22. After proceedings in camera, Herr Walter Schwerdferger, a journalist on the “Borsen Zeitung,” was sentenced to penal servitude for life. He was arrested in August on a charge of revealing to foreign diplomats and journalists instructions and other confidential information issued to the German Press by the Minister of Propaganda. The Nazis considered that the information was injurious to State interests.
