TWO of England’s better-known actors recently returned to London after enjoying peaceful holidays. Charles Laughton had been away in Scarborough, where he was born 37 years ago, to visit his parents, who are still living there; and Jack Buchanan, who was born in Glasgow in 1891, had been resting in the Highlands, his favourite holiday retreat.
