The life of vadium is about 2500 years, according to Dr. P. C. Fenwick, radiologist at the Christchurch Public Hospital, who gave an address on radium to the Canterbury Advertising Club on Wednesday night. Dr. Fenwick said that after about 1500 years radium lost half its strength, and in 3000 years it would turn into lead. “So that if Julius Caesar had bequeathed some radium to the Christchurch Hospital we could still be using it,” he said.
