BIG TRADE LOSSES

Britain and Sanctions (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, July 21. The effect of sanctions on British trade was the subject of an answer in the House of Commons to-day. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Walter Runciman, stated that in the seven months, December, 1035, to June, 1930, the United Kingdom exports to Italy, including reexports were valued at £482,000, compared with £6,181.000 for the seven months December, 1934, to June, 1935. Mr. Runciman pointed out, however, that tho change indicated by these figures could not be attributed wholly to sanctions. Nor was it possible to estimate the effect of sanctions on British trade with other countries than Italy.
