Wellington Markets Quiet LITTLE CHANGE IN PRICES Trading was not active on the W e ’* lington Stock Exchange yesterday, but a fairly good turnover was recorded, mainly in industrial and trading issues. Inces showed little or no change on late market ra Union Steam preference sold 3d. down at 26/3, and Northern Steam were done at 5/9. J. Staples and Co. reacted to the ■improved interim dividend and sold 1/higher at 35/6. New Zealand Breweries were steady on business at 04/3. Woolworths were fairly active, a parcel of 25 New Zealands going at £o/1~/v and three lots of the Sydney issue totalling 350 shares selling at £a/14/b to to There was a good demand for Government loans at steady rates, but eu were meagre and no actual business was recorded. Banks were dull and New Zealands showed an easy trend at 39/11, sellers 40/6. Commercial of Australia were firmer at 18/8, sellers 18/10.
