LEATHERS BEATEN BY KRUSE

Wrestling at Wanganui By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, July 22. Bob Kruse defeated "Sad” Sam Leathers in a professional wrestling bout to-night, gaining two falls to one. The winner specialised in wristlocks and successfully countered Leathers’ figure-four scissors. Kruse got a fall in the third round with a body press, following a series of reverse wristlocks. Leathers equalised in the fifth, gaining a submission fall with a figure-four scissors. In the seventh Leathers had Kruse in a figure-four scissors applied to the head, but Kruse turned over and cleverly pinned the points of Leathers’ shoulders to the mat to gain a fall. Ironically enough Kruse was unable to rise for some time after the hold had been broken. Finally he was assisted to his feet to be declared the winner.
