Point for Court of Appeal By Telegraph—Press Association. Timarn, July 22. At the retrial of Bernard Lewis Blackwell on charges of sly grog-selling at Ashburton the jury returned a verdict of guilty after a retirement of eight minutes. Counsel for accused stated that there was an important matter connected with the evidence submitted to the jury which he ylesired reserved for the Court of Appeal, and asked for sentence to be postponed pending a decision.

Mr. Justice Northcroft agreed that it was a proper case for the question Involved to be reserved for the Court of Appeal and postponed sentence, accused being granted bail.
