One of the most important matches ot the 1936 wrestling calendar will be tstagei. at the Wellington Town Hall next Siou<)ay night, wheu “Lofty” Blomfield, oi Auckland, will present his challenge to Earl SlcCready for the British Empire title. The fixture has been the subject of much speculation among wrestling enthusiasts, as it is recognised that Blomfield has excellent prospects ot succeeding in the most difficult feat which any wrestler io New Zealand at the present time could be asked to perform. Last season Blomfield participated in challenge matches against McCready and, though he did not succeed he ran the formidable Canadian very close, one of the matches resultin' 5 " in a draw. It will be his linst meeting’ with SlcCready this season, nnd the main guide to form lies in the matches which lx>tli men have had with Jack Forsgren. Forsgrcn gave McCready one of the hardest matches the latter has ever had in Wellington, but Blomfield bent Forsgren in both of their local contests, as well as in matches in other parts of the Dominion. There will be amateur preliminaries from S o’clock.
