Reconstructing the British Navy.— A reconstructed cruiser of the Southampton class. Costing in the vicinity of £2,000,000 each, this class is being altered carry several (instead of one) aeroplanes in a hangar, and far heavier deck armour is provided, the relit costing about £900,000 for each vessel. There is also considerable augmentation of their anti-aircraft armament.
