EVENING AT RED CROSS ROOMS

Au enjoyaible social evening was held recently ait the Red Cross rooms, the object being to augment the funds of the “Old English Ball.” Opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Dr. and Mrs. Alexander Giliies, prior to their departure for Europe. Mr. C. H. Chapman, in making a presentation to Mrs. Gillies, on behalf of t>he executive, wished her and her husband bon voyage and a pleasant holiday. Items were given by Mrs, Morrish and Miss Reynolds, Miss Ryan, Miss Jean Ivin. Vai Baine and Mr. Jones. The accompanists were Mesdames Chapman and Johnson and Mr. Baker, and the hostesses were Mesdames Galloway, Angus. S. Myers and Schneideraan. A home-made supper was served, the tables being decorated with bowls of iceland poppies and foliage. Those present included: Dr. and Mrs. Beaumont, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Galloway. Mesdames Butterton, Haslett, Wray, Hughes, Tatham, C. Evans, Bitossi, Wilkinson, Baine, Bruce, LeesBrown, Bunny, Benge, Allan-Hill, Ivin, Macduff, Johnson, Chapman, Downes, Dawson, Patterson, Smith, Kean, Ogilvy, Messrs. Blaker, Bruce, Baker, Ratcliffe, Jones, Dawson, Angus, Ogilvy, Walker, Evans.
