“STRANGLER” LEWIS COMING
New Zealand Visit on Way To India
Advice has been received by Mr. Walter Miller, team manager for the Dominion Wrestling Union, that the noted American wrestler, "Strangler” Lewis, will visit New Zealand soon. Accompanied by Ted Thye, the wellknown promoter, who will act as his manager for the tour, Lewis has arranged to leave the United States in September en route for India. Mr. Miller said it had been arranged that Lewis would' break his journey in New Zealand, Femaining for a month, when matches would be arranged for him. Many times world champion, Lewis is still regarded as a name to conjure with among’the leading figures in wrestling. His coming will represent the most impressive attraction arranged by the union since the regular ini-' portation of American wrestlers began eight years ago. At about the same time another leading American wrestler will be imported by the union to strengthen the tailend of the season. He will be chosen from a group of three —Don George, “Jumping Joe” Savoldi, and Chief Little Wolf. George has an impressive record and has held the world title, and both the others are matmen of distinction. Ja'ck Forsgren, the Canadian wrestler, returned from a holiday visit to Australia in the Marama, which arrived in Wellington yesterday morning. He has been booked to meet Bob Kruse In Dunedin on Saturday night
